This privacy policy outlines the type of personal information that is received and collected by https://foodcrumbles.com as well as https://courses.foodcrumbles.com and how it is used. These websites are owned and maintained by the company FoodCrumbles. FoodCrumbles is registered in the Netherlands with the Chamber of Commerce, registration number 82744386.

Foodcrumbles.com only collects such personal information that is necessary for you to access and use our services. Personal identification information is voluntarily submitted (e.g. by asking for your name or email address in order to subscribe to our mailing list or making an account or providing payment details to access our courses). Users may visit our site anonymously. Personal information is never sold to third parties and you may opt-out of our mailing list at any time either by contacting us directly or by following the link at the bottom of our emails.

Foodcrumbles.com makes use of log files. The information inside the log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, type of browser, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement around the site, and gather demographic information. IP addresses, and other such information are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.

Comments & Contact forms

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

If you submit information through a contact form we collect the data shown in the contact form as well as the visitor’s IP address. We will store this information in our e-mail provider and will not use it for marketing purposes.

This information will be stored indefinitely.

Cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is being used in order to improve the user experience. User data is anonymous. You can find the Google privacy policy here.

FoodCrumbles.com uses Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting. Users can completely block Google Analytics tracking using Google’s Analytics Opt-out browser add-on.

We clearly mark affiliate links as such. We are affiliated with the following companies:

Bookshop

FoodCrumbles.com is an affiliate for bookshop.org, “an online bookstore with a mission to financially support independent bookstores and give back to the book community”. If you decide to purchase through these affiliate links Bookshop.org will share customer data (no payment data though) unless you opt out (see also Bookshop.org’s FAQ). If you do not buy, but just browse on the FoodCrumbles store on Bookshop.com we will not receive any personal information about you. We only track the number of clicks through these links.

Once you are on bookshop.org, their privacy policy is applicable and FoodCrumbles.com cannot be held responsible for any activity on bookshop.org.

Courses

For our courses, we use a few dedicated tools to manage our students’ access. Signing up for a course is voluntary, the following tools are used.

LearnDash

We use LearnDash to sell/distribute our courses. We only collect data relevant to you being able to sign in to the course and to contact you with basic and introductory information. You may be asked to sign up for an e-mail list if you’re interested.

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide an email address. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

  • Send you information about your account and order
  • Create your account
  • Provide you with updates on the courses we provide

If you register a free account then we will store your email address. We store information about you for as long as your account exists. We store course progress, including completion status, quiz scores, assignments and/or essay submissions (if applicable). We will also store comments on courses, lessons, topics, assignments, and essays if you choose to leave them.

Only our administrators have access to your information such as:

  • Order information such as your enrolled courses, course progress and username / email address.
  • Any additional information added to your WordPress User Profile can also be visible to the administrator(s).

Payments

We use Stripe to process payments when purchasing a course. A link to their policy is provided upon check out and can be found here.

Email marketing

You have the option to voluntarily sign up for a newsletter. Upon signing up you provide us with your email address and name (optional) and give us permission to send you updates about the FoodCrumbles business.

We do not share the information supplied with others outside of FoodCrumbles. We do use an email marketing tool to process and safely store data. We use MailerLite to do so, you can find their privacy policy here.

You can always unsubscribe from our emails using the unsubscribe button at the bottom of our emails. If you have any issues, please reach out directly and we’ll help you out.
